Katherine’s short stories deal with personal issues, whether they’re set around negotiations for an exotic tree or murder/suicide. Her first short story, “Talents Like Mine,” won first place in the Jack London Short Story Contest before appearing in American Way Magazine (American Airlines). Other published stories include:

“The Prayer Dilemma,” about an agnostic who prays when the chips are down.
“Within Nuclear Range,” about living, again, within range of a nuclear missile strike.
